Fire wands have been designed by the instructors at the Woodland School to remove a lot of the problems that come with other ferrorods. The main features are:
 
A chunky 75mm long handle that allows people with all sizes of hands to gain a firm grip and have good control when striking.
A 8mm x 60mm striking surface, givng users the ability to create large sparks with fewer strikes.
A long paracord lanyard that allows lots of free hand movement as well as being great for carrying the Firewand when not in use.
